Masonry In Plain Language

Doug Price a Past Master, Grand Lodge of Kansas proposes 18 principles to explain in plain language what Masons believe in.

  • Serve God as you understand him to be.
  • Expect good things in life and live like you do.
  • Be generous to people in need.
  • Keep your promises.
  • Be industrious and improve your mind.
  • Remember that there is to come, and act with that in mind.
  • Take care of your family.
  • Be tolerant of the honest opinion of others.
  • Keep yourself morally clean.
  • Help Brother Masons.
  • Learn the Ritual work and be active in Lodge.
  • Protect your own physical health.
  • Be strong in the face of adversity.
  • Make decisions in a calm frame of mind.
  • Always treat people fairly.
  • Be proud to be a Mason, but modest in expressing it.
  • Watch for good men seeking what Masonry offers, and assist them within the rule.
  • Be happy and enjoy life.
